Grow with us! In the latest Pentalic blog, we discuss changes to the Pentalic 365 Challenge for 2019.

One of the greatest achievements of social media is the ability for growing artists to share their work and support one another through positive feedback and constructive criticism. At Pentalic, we want to invest in artistic communities by helping the artists that partake in them flourish. This is why we created the 365 Challenge.

With the 365 Challenge, we encourage artists to create art every day, regardless of their skill level, through completing a variety of invigorating daily drawing prompts and art challenges. The daily prompts and challenges are designed to heighten an artist’s skills by stepping them outside of their creative comfort zones. Since we launched the 365 Challenge in December 2017, we have been amazed at what our followers have created with our prompts. Our movement to draw every day is steadily developing into a boundless, fun, nurturing community filled with love and thriving artists of all skill levels.

To further advance our supportive artistic community, we created an accompanying Facebook page for the 365 Challenge, “Pentalic 365 Art Challenge”. This page provides a forum space where challenge participants can share their work on the daily prompts and monthly challenges, and get support from other artists.

Whether an artist has an hour to paint or ten minutes to sketch, the challenge has always been to pick up your sketchbook once a day and practice your art. We began the challenge by posting themed prompts 4 times per week, with a weekend drawing challenge every Thursday.

For 2019, we aim to encourage more artistic practice by posting prompts every day for 365 days of prompts. Instead of 4 challenges per month, we will post one monthly drawing challenge that corresponds with the month’s theme. Providing 12 challenges per year allows participants to devote more time to create one polished piece each month. We announce the monthly prompt on the first day of every month on our social media pages and website. In addition to viewing the prompts daily on Instagram and Facebook, participants have the option of viewing all the prompts for the month on the 365 Challenge tab on Pentalic.com.

To enter our monthly drawing for the prize pack, participants had to #pentalic365 and follow the provided prompt instructions. Starting in 2019, the winner of the prize pack will no longer be randomly selected.  The winners will be selected by our social media team based on skill, originality and creativity with the provided prompt. The first place winner earns a Pentalic prize pack, while the second and third place winners will receive honorable mentions. All three winners will be featured on our website and social media pages.

Here are the rules for each drawing challenge:

Rules

  1. Draw or paint the posted prompt
  2. Follow @pentalic365 on Instagram
  3. Post your art on Instagram with #pentalic365 and tag at least one friend who would love to participate and win prizes!

The 365 Challenge not only aspires to curate friendly competition and introduce creative drawing prompts; the ultimate goal of the 365 Challenge is to create camaraderie between artists of all styles and skill levels to nurture artistic growth. We hope these changes to the challenge help participants along their artistic journeys by elevating their skills and expanding their creative horizons. Whether an artist starts participating in our challenge on Day 1 or Day 101, all are welcome to grow with us.
